From the employer
We are looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to help scale Perplexity’s consumer and enterprise businesses. You will partner with Marketing and Growth leaders to identify growth opportunities, understand customer economics, and turn investment decisions into measurable business results. You will build our marketing-finance capabilities while helping shape how we acquire customers and generate enterprise pipeline.
This role starts as a hands-on individual contributor position for someone who enjoys open-ended problems and turning analysis into action. You will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, with room for your scope to evolve as the company grows. We value someone who can set direction, dig into the details, and follow through.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the customer economics and investment recommendations that guide how we acquire and retain customers, grow enterprise pipeline, and scale marketing spend. Use CAC, LTV, and payback to evaluate investment returns.
Partner with Marketing and Growth leaders to build and scale growth initiatives, identify constraints, and determine the resources and changes needed to produce more business.
Build models and analyses to guide growth investments, translate plans into resource requirements and spending forecasts, and track commitments as plans evolve.
Collaborate with data and business partners to strengthen measurement and attribution, connecting marketing activity to business outcomes. Help teams make investment decisions with incomplete information, making assumptions explicit and using results to refine where we invest.
Take ownership of emerging strategic questions across GTM, bringing clear recommendations and adapting as priorities change.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in strategic finance, business operations, growth analytics, or a related field, with experience supporting growth-oriented decisions.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of customer economics and investment returns.
Ability to work directly with data and build financial models, using AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve workflows. You can validate outputs, interrogate assumptions, and explain the business logic behind your recommendations.
Experience making growth investment decisions across both consumer or self-serve acquisition and enterprise demand generation, with a strong understanding of customer economics and the connection between marketing activity, pipeline, and bookings.
A track record of independently identifying growth opportunities, building the analysis needed to act, and working with partners to implement decisions and learn from results. You move quickly, learn fast, and are willing to do the detailed work yourself.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust, challenge assumptions constructively, and work across teams.
