What you'll do
- Reconcile bank and customer-rebate accounts, then investigate the numbers behind those balances
- Handle monthly and year-end close work, including journal entries, corporate reports and balance rollovers
- Process SAP month-end assessments, allocations and foreign-exchange valuations, and manage freight postings and expense reallocations
- Prepare IFRS packages and German GAAP submissions, keeping central finance updated on close progress
- Support intercompany accounting, audit requests and finance projects as needed
What you bring
- At least one year of general accounting work in manufacturing or public accounting
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related business field
- Working knowledge of GAAP or IFRS, account reconciliations and accounting procedures
- Advanced Excel skills and strong independent analysis and problem-solving ability
- SAP or another ERP background is preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for support of General Ledger, specifically for month end /yead end closing, account reconciliations and analysis, and financial reporting.
Essential Functions:
• Account reconciliations ranging from bank reconciliations to customer rebates reconciliations and analysis
• Month-end/year end close activities including journal entries, corporate reporting and rollover of balances
• Inter and intracompany eliminations, reporting and reconciliations
• SAP month end processing including assessments, allocations, and foreign exchange valuation.
• IFRS reporting packages preparation
• Communicate to central finance team on status of monthly closing including the preparation and submission of SEM German GAAP reporting
• Lead posting of freight activity and re-allocation of freight expenses
• Assist other areas of finance with various projects and questions
• Assist with KMPG (interim/final) audit requests
• Special projects as assigned by manager
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and deep understanding of account reconciliations, accounting principles and procedures.
Experience:
• 1-4+ years of experience in general accounting within a manufacturing or public accounting environment.
• SAP or other ERP experience strongly preferred.
Skills:
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
• Able to confidently and efficiently correspond to all levels of management.
• Advanced independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Shows commitment to process improvement.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field required.
• Accounting strongly preferred.
